You win. The match maker isnt supposed to match T5 with T2, much less T1 that was in this game.
I just want to add, sorry you are stuck with people who have played hundreds of hours.
People were right to ask for a screeny. Lets not get into a war of whether you should trust me not not, this isnt about trust. I trust you all trust me by now =) but you cant have facts without the facts. It's science, like how womens brain are smaller or how the MM works 60% of the time, every time.

It was SOLO Quick Play,
I come back on my word, group at first had a 60seconds valve like quickplay and then was lowered to 30second. Dunno where they are now. We do know for a fact that no one, at ANY tier should be put with another guy thats 3 tier above/under him.

thanks, just looked back at the notes, and I remembered that I read it before, but have forgotten.
I guess it was because when running a group, somebody who was in teir 1 said that because of him we were going against harder than usual opponents, definitely wasn't the case, or maybe it was a joke.

Just to make sure that I understand it correctly: You (as Tier 2 player) met a Tier 5 player in Solo game?
I thought that it was impossible because the matchmaker's limit is +/- 2 tiers.

An easy mistake. That's how the MMs of most games work. I suspect the heavily inflated team limit and a comparably small user base torpedoes that for MWO.

This development shouldn't surprise me, but it does.

However, I'm pretty sure after a given time the "release valves" are opened so you can get match with anyone. And you can try that pretty easy, make a new account and don't win your first 5 matches, then have a good look on the player names. Playing off peak hours helps and you'll see known faces from higher tiers in no time.

Seriously, did you expect it to just go "sorry, not enough players in tie ring rules, you don't get to play at all"? (We already have that in fw, how awesome is that?!) and just because of a combination on server selection, time of day, and tiers coincided to make for a deadzone
Edit: clarify, I meant we have that already in faction play from the stand point of not enough players, so no one plays, and not tier matching.

I'm not doubting the MM is mixing t5 with t1 if release values kick in, but having a screenshot would be nice. I mean, you easily could (not saying you did) create an alt account to set this post up.
Again, i'm not saying you did, but there will certainly be people who think so. Having a screenshot would quickly silence doubts.
